The Friends of the Semel Institute is excited to invite you to join author Caroline Welch for “In the Presence of Women: Time to Engage, Explore and Enjoy” on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.  



 

This will be a five-week series based on Ms. Welch's new  book, The Gift of Presence: A Mindfulness Guide for Women,  that we were featuring at an Open Mind, unfortunately postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
 
If there’s one takeaway message from Ms. Welch's book, it’s that self-care isn’t selfish. It’s essential, especially in the midst of challenges, such as a pandemic when we’re understandably experiencing uncertainty, fear, loss and anxiety --individually and collectively.
 
What better way to take good care of yourself than to set aside an hour just for you?
 
Each week Ms. Welch will take a journey that will include poetry, a short “blast” about mindfulness, a practice you can make your own, the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas in small groups, and time for a Q & A. You’ll see how Presence and the 3 Ps of Purpose, Pivoting, and Pacing can provide a reset right now to support you in feeling restored and building resilience.
